Tea Bowl - Hagi ware

Made in Hagi City in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan.

Hagi ware has been known for ceramics that tea masters love as it has been said that “Raku first, Hagi second and Karatsu third” for ages. Hagi ware is also famous for its beautiful Kan-nyu, fine web of cracks and fine pores on surface, because the color of the glaze will get darker as the slightly porous surface absorbs tea or sake residues through its tiny crackles, maturing over time.
