We are honored to present the third photography exhibition of Omar Aly, unveiled under the timeless title Wa Kei Sei Jaku—“Harmony, Respect, Purity, Tranquility,” the four principles that lie at the heart of the Japanese tea ceremony.
Through Aly’s lens, the spirit of matcha unfolds in quiet detail. The exhibition traces the landscapes and lives of eight tea farms that sustain Setsugekka, stretching across Kyoto, Aichi, Fukuoka, Oita, and Kagoshima prefectures. Each image reflects the devotion, patience, and subtle variations that give matcha its depth and character.
Alongside the exhibition, we invite you to take part in two special experiences:
- Camera Workshop with Omar Aly (schedule to be announced shortly)
- Japanese Tea Ceremony: Matcha Flight, hosted by Souheki Mori, presented amidst Aly’s evocative works, on Saturday, September 27 at 11:30 am

イーストビレッジの雪月華で
NY在住のオマー・アレイ氏の第三回写真展が9月19日から10月26日まで開催される。タイトルは「和敬清寂」―茶道の心を表す「調和・敬意・清らかさ・静けさ」。
今回の写真展では京都、愛知、福岡、大分、鹿児島にある、雪月華に抹茶を届けてくださる八つの茶園の風景や生産者の方々にスポットライトが当てられ、抹茶が生まれる過程や茶農家の思い、産地ごとの違いを感じられる内容となる。
オープニングレセプションは9月19日（金）午後6から8時まで開催される。アレイ氏のカメラワークショップでは、直接指導を受けながら撮影の魅力やコツを学ぶことができる。アレイ氏の作品に囲まれた空間で、複数の産地から届いた抹茶の豊かな風味を楽しめる茶会が9月27日(土)午前11時半から開催される。アレイ氏のワークショップと森宗碧による茶会は座席に限りがあり事前予約が必要。予約受付は近日中に開始予定。どうぞこの貴重な機会をお見逃しなく。

Souheki Mori Matcha Flight "Tōcha 闘茶" Tea Ceremony
Saturday. September 27, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
Admission: $80 plus tax per person
We are delighted to offer you a unique opportunity to participate in an authentic Japanese tea ceremony by Souheki Mori. On this special occasion, in collaboration with Omar Aly's photography exhibition, we will host a Tōcha (闘茶), a traditional tea game (matcha flight) where you will have the chance to distinguish a specific matcha tea from three others.
During the experience, you will first taste a target matcha and then sample three small cups of matcha to determine which one matches the target. This engaging and sensory tea game will be accompanied by the opportunity to appreciate the magical photos of Omar, which will be on display throughout the ceremony.
