Enjoy Our Freshest House-Ground Matcha – Open Japanese Tea Ceremony in Manhattan
We are happy to offer an opportunity to experience an hour of authentic Japanese tea ceremony. Guests of the tea ceremony will enjoy a bowl of matcha green tea as well as a tea sweet.
The tea master, Souheki Mori, has been a practitioner of the Japanese tea ceremony for over 30 years and has been teaching Japanese tea ceremony in New York since 2013. We've been receiving so many inquiries about holding the tea ceremony, and finally this will be the first regular open tea ceremony. Thank you so much for your kind patience.
Souheki will begin with a short lecture on the Japanese tea ceremony, sharing what it is and the essential philosophy behind it, before commencing the ritual itself. We hope our guests will leave with a deeper appreciation of this profound culture, along with a treasured memory of pristine beauty and serenity shared with the master and fellow participants.
For this special inaugural open tea ceremony, she will serve our freshest, house-ground matcha—a once-in-a-lifetime experience, found only here in the very heart of Manhattan, where the quiet grace of tea meets the vibrant energy of the city.
We look forward to seeing you in person and serving a bowl of matcha specially prepared for you.
*In conjunction with the Open Tea Ceremony, we are honored to present a photography exhibition, “Wa Kei Sei Jaku” by Omar Aly — capturing the timeless spirit of harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility.
