at Setsugekka East Village
Please join us to enjoy Sencha & Music! We look forward to seeing you.
For the past nine years, Setsugekka has proudly served as a specialty matcha destination, introducing countless guests to the rich depth and complexity of matcha through its diverse origins and carefully crafted blends. We are honored to have helped shape and inspire New York’s vibrant matcha culture.
Over the years, many of our guests have expressed a desire to explore beyond matcha — to experience the nuanced flavors of Japanese green teas such as gyokuro, hojicha, and genmaicha. After much anticipation, we are delighted to announce that sencha will finally be joining our menu.
To celebrate this exciting addition, we warmly invite you to our Tea and Music Party.
Together with our talented team member and musician, Day and Ventura, Souheki will introduce the art of brewing delicious sencha, guiding you through its flavors and techniques while sharing insights into the wider world of Japanese tea. Live music will accompany the experience, creating a relaxed and immersive atmosphere.
We will also be serving healthy Japanese light bites to complement the tea.
Join us for a serene gathering of taste, sound, and community as we continue to deepen the Setsugekka tea experience.
We look forward to welcoming you.

Alaska Day
Alaska picked up the guitar at 13 and began performing across New York City venues, restaurants, breweries, and festivals by the age of 17. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jazz and Contemporary Music from The New School in 2016, with a focus on jazz guitar, vocals, and composition.

Alaska has collaborated with a range of local artists and groups, including Kerry Blu, SugarMama, and Celine Iris. She is also the bandleader and songwriter of Broken Flight, a collective of rotating musicians who bring her original songs to life. Alaska is currently producing her next single, “Kiss Me Until the Lights Go Out.
